Private Lessons: Bass & Other Topics

I offer private lessons to students of all ages, backgrounds, and learning abilities. While I specialize in bass, I am available to teach you anything I can about music, including beginning technique on other instruments like guitar, piano, and drums. Whether you have experience playing music or have never touched an instrument in your life, I can help you attain your musical goals. There are so many ways to make even the most difficult musical challenges accessible and engaging.

 

Here are just some of the concepts I can help you with:

 

How to play your favorite music and thoroughly memorize any song you like. Learn the styles of jazz, rock, pop, funk, hip-hop, R&B, blues, soul, country, metal, salsa, reggae, punk, and more.

 

Ear Training. Immerse yourself in the language of music so that you can pick up songs by ear and improvise with your own voice.

 

Bass Technique. Basic fretting, fingerstyle, and picking, as well as slapping, muting, tapping, harmonics, and more!

 

Notation. Read and write sheet music or tablature. Learn about clefs, key signatures, time signatures, note durations, etc.

 

Music Theory. Understand scales, modes, chords, rhythms, melodies, and song forms to help you master your music.
